Christmas is fast approaching and I am thinking of doing something special for my mother
It involves getting her a few things
Now, on my list of items was something my best friend could give me
She was selling it but later decided to offer it for free
I happily accepted it as I left her room but stepped back in and told her I was going to buy it. WHY?
Because I wanted to have that feeling of ownership!
I want to know whenever I see my mum wearing it, I bought it for her!
To me, paying for it was a sign of how much I loved her and how far I would go to make her happy
You see this got me thinking about David and the statement he made some ages back.
Araunah was offering his field to him for free to sacrifice to the Lord but he rather choose to buy it! He said, I will not give to the Lord anything that costs me nothing! (2nd Samuel 24: 21-24)
Then it made me understand better why THE LORD OF HOSTS will choose to die for us! I feel like He said, “I will not give to my children anything that costs me nothing!”
So John 3:16 says “For God SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO DIE FOR US”.
This is what Christmas is truly about.
AN EXPLOSION OF LOVE
God coming down, into a manger, saying, I can’t take it any longer
THEY NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM!!!
And yes, true love is costly! It can cost you your pride, your time, your energy, sleepless nights wiping that babies nose, your money etc. But remember, TRUE LOVE IS ALWAYS WORTH DYING FOR!
GOD LOVES YOU!
Never forget this as you celebrate Christmas and spread the love, so everybody can have it (especially to the less privileged).
Merry Christmas in advance.
