Do you love me?

Snap 2013-07-09 at 08.58.28If Jesus were to ask you today: “Do you love me?” your answer would probably be plain obvious: “Of course I love you my Lord”. He would have then probably followed with this statement:

“If you love me, keep my commands.” John 14:15

Indeed, we all claim to love our Lord, however as we all know, declaring your love for something doesn’t necessarily mean you love that person/thing.

I remember with amusement one of the youthful relationships I involved myself in. As youngsters full of energy, we would call each other and declare our unending, superlative, unconditional love for each other. It wasn’t long however and we both realised it was child’s play. We were just playing with words. It never showed up in actions.  We would declare our love for each other yet never make time for each other. We would claim to love each other yet fail to solve each other’s problems. It was based on pure lust and physical gratification. That’s when this saying got ingrained in my intellect: “Actions speak louder than words!”

You want to know what someone loves? Look at his actions! You want to know some one’s passions? It’s in his actions! You want to know someone’s mood? It’s in his actions! Actions! Actions! Actions! They are the product of the heart! They show where a man’s desires are, Hallelujah!

How do you know that you truly love Jesus?

The answer has already been made clear above: It’s in our actions that we prove our love for him. Our actions are a product of our thoughts, which flows from the abundance of our hearts! Can I list all the laws that we must obey? Certainly not! However Jesus gives the summary of the Law:

And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’“This is the great and foremost commandment.“The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’“On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” Mathew 22:37-40

The answer is clear, if we love God, it should be with every part of our being. Our soul, our heart, our mind, amen! Of course, love your neighbour as your self!

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.

For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

1 John 4:20

Do you love Jesus? Prove it with your actions! Amen! We’re launching a campaign to enable us reach over 1million people for Christ online. We’re asking for your support in cash and kind. If you truly love Jesus, please support our campaign. It’s launching tomorrow. God bless you!

We have all fallen short none more than me , but thank God he forgives. I myself cannot say that at some time I have not ( in the quickness of the moment) hated someone. I prayed about it and now Although this person goes in when I am around in our street and crosses over onto the other side when passing in the village , prayer has helped my to see the good he does for others. I have tried to make friend and even say I am sorry when I had done nothing wrong . I will just go on praying. THANK GOD FOR GOD AND HIS SON JESUS . It is not easy being a Christian lol.

Vivienne, Right on point. It’s not easy, but his strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. Keep praying, but forgiveness is very important. I’d like to end with this:

      Mathew 3: 23&24
“Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering

What specifically are you using the funds for and how much do you need?

    • Yaw Ansong

Our funding goal is USD$4200. We need to increase our social media following so as to reach more than a million people for Christ. Our site needs to be made more mobile so as to make reaching out to people on the mobile platform easier. Again we need to improve the design of the site and make the site more optimized for the search engines so that people can easily find Christian content. All this requires a lot of money and we need your support!
